Don’t panic.
Parents of high school students have no need to fear that the rules will change halfway through the game, however, at the work session before Monday night’s meeting of the Archuleta School District Board of Education, high school assistant principal Sean O’Donnell presented the new criteria students will soon have to meet to be able to graduate.
The key point to remember is there are a lot of details to iron out and, at the earliest, these new rules might apply to this year’s sixth-graders; everyone older than that will be grandfathered in under the existing graduation requirements.
