Pagosa Country is looking to ring in 2013 with a few additional inches of white stuff on the ground.
According to various weather forecasts, 1-4 inches of snow are expected to fall today, with snow tapering off and less than one inch expected overnight.
Highs in the upper 20s are expected for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, with partly cloudy skies expected for the first day of 2013.
With potential for less-than-ideal road conditions due to snow and less-than-sober drivers, motorists are urged to use caution on the roads.
The Pagosa Springs Police Department is continuing is High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement campaign through Jan. 2, increasing patrols throughout town.
In additon to the increased patrols, the PSPD has issued a reminder that, should anyone observe a driver believed to be impaired, contact Archuleta County Combined Dispatch at 731-2160 or dial 911.
