Maria Corina Romero, 83, was born May 11, 1932, in Rosa, N.M., to Elario Rivas and Margarita Rivas. She died Oct. 2 in Phoenix, Ariz.
She is survived by children, Daniel Romero (Margaret), Maria Storts (Johnny), Gloria (Bill), Richard Romero (Debra), Randy Romero, Debra Thorn (Layton), Tana Camargo (Jose), Cindy Kennemur (Max) and Becky Romero; brothers Tony Rivas, of Kirtland, N.M., and Rudy Larribas, of Flora Vista, N.M.; 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Elias Romero Jr., sons Tommy and Leon Romero, and daughter Loretta Romero, numerous sisters and brothers.
Cora was a mother and homemaker who enjoyed family get-togethers, baking, cooking, crocheting, embroidering, time with her grandchildren, Spanish music, dance and crossword puzzles, and she attended Sacred Heart Church in Durango.
Mom will be dearly missed by all her family. She was residing with her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Margaret, in Phoenix when she passed.
Rosary will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery.
