From the Dec. 10, 1987, Pagosa SUN — EARLY MORNING INFERNO — Pagosa Springs and Pagosa Lakes firemen fought a roaring blaze, bitter cold, and slippery ice to subdue a 6 a.m. blaze at the River Center on the east edge of Pagosa Springs. Considerable damage was done and it was felt the fire started in a motor coach parked behind the River Center.
