Former resident Joseph Carr Wilson III, 81, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, at his home in Carlsbad, N.M. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Joseph Carr Wilson III was born to Joseph C. II and Evelyn (Meyers) Wilson on Nov. 4, 1935, in Denver, Colo. He was raised in Colorado, where he graduated from high school before serving in the U.S. Navy.
Joseph and Linda “Sue” (Baldwin) Wilson were married April 20, 1988, in Pagosa Springs and resided between there and Phoenix, Ariz., for 20 years, until moving to Carlsbad, N.M. in 2003.
Joseph worked as a real estate broker with Lou Poma Realty prior to his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Breck and Joseph C. Wilson IV, daughter Lynda Wilson, sister Patricia Robb, grandson Seth Payne and granddaughter Alyson Payne.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Sue Wilson, of Carlsbad; and sons Yul and Rok Wilson, both of Pagosa Springs; and daughter Lorene Stevensl, of Englewood, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
