James ‘Jim’ Alfred Hitchcox

Jim Hitchcox, longtime Pagosa Springs resident, passed away on April 6 in Greeley, Colo. James Alfred Hitchcox, “Jim,” was born in Peoria, Ill., on Aug. 21, 1944. His father’s military career took the family to many parts of the country. Jim was a ROTC cadet, graduate of University of Colorado and he obtained a master’s degree from Michigan State University. He was a commissioned United States Air Force captain and a Vietnam War veteran.

Jim’s business career offered him the opportunity to visit the world and enjoy his love of great foods. No one loved the game of golf more than Jim, as many of his dear friends will attest.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, DiAnn; his daughter, Kimberly; his grandson-to-be, Logan James; son-in-law Erik Frank; sisters Tricia Grosvenor and Mary Herrington; brothers-in-law Bill Grosvenor and Buddy Herrington; five nephews and their beautiful families; wonderful friends of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church; and dearly loved friends across the country.
