Special to The PREVIEW
Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County and the Pirate Achievement Center (PAC) at Pagosa Springs High School are wrapping up their partnership for the year.
The PAC students paired up with Habitat for Humanity for the fourth year in a row to support the organization by providing construction support for its ongoing projects. During the process, students also gained valuable knowledge of basic construction skills and were able to engage in learning outside of the standard classroom.
This year, the students also built a play structure to be auctioned off, with all proceeds donated to Habitat for Humanity. The students and Habitat volunteers would love to see this structure find a happy home in our community.
It is a two-story shaded structure, complete with slide, recycled plastic flooring, climbing wall and cargo net. Anyone interested is welcome to stop by the PAC and get a closer look. An opening bid of $700 has been issued, and all subsequent bids and questions can be sent to Stewart Bellina via email at sbellina@pagosa.k12.co.us.
