An area flood advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service through mid-morning Friday.
According to Thad McKain, Archuleta County's director of emergency management, the specific areas to watch under the advisory are the Mill Creek, Upper Blanco, Blanco Basin and San Juan watersheds.
McKain said the storms are expected to be convection storms, which he noted will hopefully make them easier to track. This round of storms is expected to set in around noon today (Thursday, June 11), and should begin to break down by sundown.
Another storm is currently expected to hit Saturday.
As with the previous storms that have caused flood watches and warnings, McKain said state and local resources are monitoring the situation, and the Red Cross remains on standby in case it is needed.
Thus far, Pagosa Country has largely avoided flood-related issues, McKain said, with the exception of a clogged diversion on the Blanco River that was quickly cleared and a large downed tree being dealt with by the U.S. Forest Service.
