Archuleta County now boasts one of the most highly certified EMS (emergency medical services) units in the state, with nine paramedics recently earning critical care certification.
“We are happy to announce that there is a large group of us now who are critically care trained,” Becky Sproul, telemedicine, outreach and critical care paramedic coordinator, told the Upper San Juan Health Service District Board at the July 22 meeting. “We have advanced education, experience, training and have been certified by a testing process that is set up and acknowledged by the state.”
