Special to The PREVIEW

Fall is in the air and it won’t be long before the first reflections of gold appear in the mountains and around town. Some are predicting a heavy snowfall this winter due to the unusual amount of rain we have received this summer.

It’s time to clean out the closets and pull out and inspect the winter clothes.

For many, winter clothes are becoming threadbare or outgrown, yet the paychecks are slim and stretched to the limit. There is a struggle to pay the bills and manage to get food on the table until the end of the month. Buying new winter clothes is out of the question. The kids will have to make do.

For others, the closet is filled with clothes that never fit right, that have been forgotten, but have plenty of wear left in them. There are outgrown children’s coats and gloves, boots that could still be worn if they fit correctly. There are sweaters that have not been worn in years because they no longer suit our fashion preference.
