Class to focus on being prepared for an emergency

The Archuleta County Colorado State University (CSU) Extension office, Archuleta County Public Health Department, Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office and Pagosa Weather are pleased to offer an emergency preparedness program entitled, “Be Prepared for an Emergency” on Tuesday, July 15.

It will be held at 5 p.m. at the CSU Extension building, located at the Archuleta County Fairgrounds at 344 U.S. 84.

This free program will last approximately 2.5 hours and cover topics such as how to safely prepare for and recover from emergencies, the weather forecast for Pagosa Country, the health of our forests, emergency resources, and more.

Light snacks and drinks will be offered.

Preregistration is not required for this free program.

CPR and first aid classes

CPR and first aid certification classes are offered every other month at the CSU Extension office, generally on the third Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m. The cost for the classes is $80 for combined CPR/first aid and $55 for CPR, first aid or recertification.
