Special to The SUN
Join the San Juan Headwaters Forest Health Partnership and Mountain Studies Institute in our third citizen science series that offers opportunities for you to participate in educational, outdoor activities that will increase your understanding of what’s happening in your local forests.
We will meet Saturday, Aug. 16, at 7 a.m. at the Ruby Sisson Memorial Library, located at 811 S. 8th St. in downtown Pagosa Springs. Our day will begin with a Birds of the Forest Tour with local representatives from the Weminuche Audubon Society. We will then offer trainings and opportunities for you to engage hands-on in forest health science.
We will also be featuring a regional expert who will talk about forest health, wildfire risk and other concerns related to the longevity of our beautiful forestlands.
Please contact Noah Chutz at vista@mountainstudies.org or call 387-5161 with any questions and to sign up.
