Chamber board appointments announced

Posted

After a month-long voting process where all Chamber members were invited to vote for three incoming candidates out of six presented to the membership, the final selection has been announced.

Starting their 2025 board seat, with a term lasting three years, are the following new Chamber board members: Austin Marchand, Cindy Nobles and Rebecca Tenpenny.

We welcome these new directors to the board.

As a quick review, every year the Chamber board rotates off three members and three new members come on the board. This keeps the makeup of the board fresh with differing personalities and ideas, and rotating between different types of businesses. We appreciate their commitment to a three-year term.

We also want to thank the other nominees who ran for the board: Elizabeth Brewer, Tom Sottek and Christina Gonzales.

We keep these candidates in the “wings” in case there is any transition on the board. Perhaps we can talk a few of these excellent nominees into running again next year.

If you are interested in sitting on the Chamber Board of Directors in the future, please contact Mary Jo, executive director of the Chamber, for more information.

Gala tickets available

On Friday, Feb. 7, the Chamber will host its annual Gala and Community Awards at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Clubhouse.

This is a fun night for the community as we get to network with many of Pagosa’s businesses, meet businesses new to our area, enjoy an evening of good food and music, and honor a number of people and organizations in our community who contribute extensively to our town.

Tickets for this event are only $35 for a full dinner, live music, a silent auction and the awards. You may also purchase a table for you and your friends. This event is open to the public.

Dinner will be provided, Maxwell Miller will be performing live, and there will be some fun activities to engage you and allow you to enter the drawing for some free prizes, including an annual Chamber membership.

Perhaps you would like to attend and support one of the nominees?

Here are the nominees for this year:

• Small Business of the Year: PS Froyo, Echo IT and Sage.

• Non-profit of the Year: Build Pagosa, Aspen House/Aspen Services and the Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs.

Volunteer of the Year: Mary Tighe, and Bill and Nancy Crouse.

Citizen of the Year: Kathleen McFadden, Larry Ash and Dee McPeek.

Two other candidates were nominated for Volunteer of the Year; however, they had already won that award.

Tickets are available online at www.pagosachamber.com or at the door. All of these nominees are deserving of recognition and support as they continue to give back to our lives and community. We hope to see you at this fun and exciting event.
