Did you know that over 2.8 million American women suffer from breast cancer?
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women. It kills more women than any other form except lung cancer. It’s the second-leading cause of death among women. One in eight women are diagnosed in their lifetime. Each year, about 253,000 women in America are diagnosed and over 40,500 die. Every two minutes, a woman is diagnosed and one dies every 13 minutes. There are over 3.3 million survivors in the U.S. today.
During the 1970s, about nine out of 100 women got breast cancer (9 percent). Today, that percentage has increased by 45 percent. There is concern that cases will rise by 70 percent during coming years (World Health Foundation).
Your health is important, and there is so much you can learn. Come to Pagosa Springs High School on April 28 from 7 to 11 a.m. You can take advantage of a minimal cost blood test panel for $35, add on more extensive tests, have vision and breast screenings, attend educational programs and meet health professionals.
Susan Kuhns, CNP is providing breast screenings.
Lifesaving tests and assessments are a great way to ward off potential problems.
We need local business support and contributions great and small are of utmost importance and appreciated.
