A legacy of excellence and empathy

I’m proud to come from a long line of dentists and doctors. I’m the tenth dentist in my family that spans four generations.

My great grandfather graduated from Northwestern Dental School in 1898. My grandfather graduated from Northwestern in 1943. My uncle graduated from Northwestern in 1971, I graduated from University of Texas in 2009 and my cousin graduated from Northwestern in 2010. I think we have a dental gene in our family.

I have always loved flying (something also shared by multiple family members). I began learning to fly Cessnas 152 and 172 at age 17 and earned my private pilot’s license at 19. I received acceptance letters to Embry Riddle Flight school and scholarships to several liberal arts colleges.

My parents thought a career in dentistry would be more successful and offered to pay for expenses. They ended up helping with insurance for three years of school but forgot about their promise to pay for college and dental school (oh well).

My grandfather was my first dentist and he was incredibly kind and compassionate. After he retired, I went to a dentist who held me down to get fillings done. The experience made me cry, and I was afraid of going to the dentist. I learned from that experience the importance of gentle dentistry. I’m very sensitive to patients who have had a bad experience as I know what it’s like to have pain in your mouth.

I’m committed to helping all of my patients at Black Diamond Dental achieve their highest possible oral health while ensuring a pain-free experience.

I have gratefully learned from my grandfather and great grandfather about complicated dentistry, dentures and partials. More importantly, I’ve learned values, ethics and morals. I look forward to serving you.
