The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado welcomes Shelly Cox to the Business Loan Fund Committee as an Archuleta County representative.
Cox is an active community member of Pagosa Springs, co-owner of Riff Raff Brewery, and previously served on the board for the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce.
“As a small business owner herself, Shelly understands the challenges of starting and growing a business,” said Jenny Stollar, business loan officer for Region 9. “Having that expertise is so helpful on the loan committee.”
Cox was appointed to the committee by the Region 9 Executive Committee in April.
The loan committee is composed of two representatives from each of the five counties in Southwest Colorado, plus two at-large positions. The loan committee members review all applications and have experience in commercial lending, law, accounting and real estate, and several members are small business owners.
