Archuleta County residents desiring to have magnesium chloride applied to roads not listed in the county’s application list this spring have until April 19 to contact the county.
Archuleta County is slated to apply mag chloride to approximately 95 miles of county roads beginning April 29. For those roads not having mag chloride applied by the county, residents can purchase the material and the county will apply it.
For this purpose, roadway sections are considered to be from street intersection to street intersection and/or to the end of the road.
With this year’s mag chloride price, the county estimates that the cost four enough product for one mile of road is $2,650.
Any residents interested in purchasing mag chloride for their roads can contact Road and Bridge Superintendent Dave Guilliams at 264.5660.
