2025 Car Show moving to Yamaguchi Park

Posted

The annual Pagosa Springs Car Show will need to change locations this year from Lewis Street to the Yamaguchi Park area.

The dates for the show remain on the second weekend of June, which is this year is June 13 and 14.

We are excited for quite a few reasons to move the show to this location. There have been questions on where we will park the cars. If you travel 5th Street, the cars will be parked on the west side of the paved street along the park, where parking is already in existence.

Users of the park and adjacent pickleball courts need to be aware that 5th Street will be closed from Pirate Drive, which is the corner where the town maintenance shop is located, all the way down to the pickleball courts on June 13 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and June 14 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The section from Apache Street to Pirate Drive will remain open for access.

Participants to the show can enter from either 6th Street or 8th Street, travel through the high school parking lot, register and then get parked along 5th Street. We have positioned the cars so that it will be easy for spectators to view the cars either via the road or the sidewalk. We will continue to have food vendors, retail vendors and car-related vendors. There will still be a beer and wine garden and of course, live music both Friday night and all day Saturday.

The show will run from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, with the award ceremony taking place at about 2:30 p.m. We will continue to have the Best in Show, People’s Choice and category awards. A bigger and better Pin Up contest will also be in full swing.

This location also affords both spectators and participants more activities with their families in the park, easier parking for the show, restroom facilities and more shade. The show will be out of the way of the construction zone, and the atmosphere will lend itself to a relaxed, open and inviting venue. Have you seen the views from this park? They are stunning.

Early-bird registration for the Car Show ends April 30. Enter early and get your free T-shirt, dash plaque and a discount. Registration can be accessed through the Chamber’s website at www.pagosachamber.com. Scroll down to Community and Chamber News, click on the Car Show graphic and register.

At this site, you can also register to volunteer for the event. We can use people to help register cars, sell merchandise, work the beer booth, or help set up or break down.

The entertainment for Saturday will be Rock n Rebels, giving everyone a great taste of some car-themed music. Friday’s free concert is still in the works and will be announced soon.

Bring the family and vote for your favorite car as you view all the entries, enjoy some delicious fare, enjoy the live music, visit the retail booths and look for all the pretty pin-up girls. This year’s Car Show is taking advantage of the various amenities at this new location. Enter your car now before early-bird pricing goes away.
