Communities at risk from wildfires can now apply for funding

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service is accepting applications for the Community Wildfire Defense Grant program to assist at-risk communities, including tribes and Alaska Native corporations, with planning for and mitigating wildfire risks. 

Colorado to receive $7 million for water measurement devices in Colorado River Basin

The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) and the Colorado Division of Water Resources are excited to announce $7 million in funding for Colorado water users within the Upper Colorado River Basin in need of a device to measure their water diversions.

Seasonal road and trail closures will begin soon

The San Juan National Forest will begin seasonal closures of forest system roads to wheeled motorized traffic, as well as motorized and some nonmotorized trails, on Dec. 1 based on snow conditions and seasonal wildlife closures. Closures could begin sooner if conditions warrant.
