Patients at Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) may be feeling cozier soon thanks to the efforts of the Archuleta County Democratic Party (ACDP).
On May 1, a group of volunteers met with Rhonda Webb, PSMC CEO and chief medical officer, to deliver a stack of fleece lap blankets the group had crafted.
Volunteers gathered on a Sunday morning in April to create the blankets, which are made by stacking two coordinating pieces of fleece, cutting fringes, and then tying them in knots.
“We’re focused not just on politics, but on serving our community,” said Shawna Seed, chair of the ACDP. “We hope these blankets will provide a little colorful comfort to PSMC patients.”
