U.S. 160 reconstruction information

Week of Aug. 10-15

Work activity

• Overlook parking lot: Sidewalk work continues along U.S. 160 next to the overlook parking lot. Parking spaces will be closed in areas where work is taking place.

• North 7th Street: Crews continue potholing and exploratory work. Pedestrians should use street crossing alternative locations at 8th Street.

• South 7th Street: Work will begin with PAWSD scheduled water utility connection updates, followed by safety improvements. Residents should plan on 7th Street being closed for a month.

• North 3rd Street intersection: Work continues on the north side of the 3rd Street intersection. Pedestrians may access the north side of main street from the 4th Street and Hot Springs Boulevard crosswalk during the work period. This intersection is expected to open Aug. 15, pending weather delays.

• 100 and 200 blocks: Crews will continue paving the south side of U.S. 160 from 2nd Street to the east.

• Pedestrian safety: Pedestrian crosswalks are open at 4th, 7th and 8th streets as an alternative to access businesses along Lewis Street or anywhere on the 400 block. Our team continues to see pedestrians not practicing good safety measures, jumping barricades and crossing U.S. 160. Our work zone is extremely active in several locations, and we want to keep everyone safe.
