Week of July 27-Aug. 1
Work activity
• U.S. 160 traffic shift: Crews will move traffic to the south side of U.S. 160 from Pagosa Springs Middle School to the west side of 2nd Street to begin construction on the north side of U.S. 160 and 3rd Street. This shift is anticipated to take place at the end of the week.
• 100-200 blocks: Crews continue work on subgrade in anticipation of future paving.
• Lewis Street: The team has completed the utility work at the Lewis Street intersection. Crews have completed about 50 percent of the concrete paving in the intersection.
• 3rd Street intersection (north side): Work continues on the north side of the 3rd Street intersection. Pedestrians may access the north side of main street from the 4th Street and Hot Springs Boulevard crosswalk during the work period. Anticipate the closure to last two more weeks.
• Pedestrian safety: Pedestrian crosswalks are open at 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th streets as an alternative to access businesses along Lewis Street or anywhere on the 400 block. Our team continues to see pedestrians not practicing good safety measures, jumping barricades and crossing U.S. 160. Our work zone is extremely active in several locations, and we want to keep everyone safe.
