Week of June 15-21
Work activity
• 500 block: Electric utility work continues in front of the businesses on the north side, and will likely be complete by the week of June 15. Crews are beginning to prep the subgrade for future paving operations in this area.
• 300 block: Crews continue to pour the roadway and sidewalks at this location.
• Hot Springs Boulevard intersection: The closure to begin utility and paving improvements of Hot Springs Boulevard (south side of the intersection to the bridge), in conjunction with the Town of Pagosa Springs, has been implemented. This closure is anticipated to take place between June 3-19. Crews have already completed utility updates at this intersection and are actively pouring concrete roadway, curb and gutter, and sidewalks through next week.
• Overlook parking lot: During the same closure of Hot Springs Boulevard, the overlook parking lot is closed for utility updates. This closure is also expected from June 3-19, and the Town of Pagosa Springs will be promoting alternative parking options in the lot near the former courthouse building off of 5th Street.
• The intersection closure at Lewis Street and U.S. 160 remains in place. Please utilize 4th, 7th and 8th streets as an alternative to access businesses along Lewis Street. The good news is that the complex utility line work is mostly complete at this intersection. Crews have completed water utility work, waste water utility work and electrical work. Some geothermal and stormwater utility work remains at this intersection, and is slated for the coming week.
