The Pagosa Community Initiative’s (PCI) Family Services program helps families throughout Archuleta County access resources, overcome challenges and work toward greater stability.
Family advocates strive to meet families where they are, listen to their individual needs, and work alongside them to develop realistic and achievable goals.
Support may include assistance with housing, employment, budgeting, parenting, public benefits, transportation and other essential needs. PCI also offers emergency financial assistance when funding is available, parenting and financial education, resource navigation, and referrals to trusted community partners.
Advocates help families identify their strengths, build connections and create plans that support long-term stability.
To qualify for PCI Family Services, a household must include a child between birth and age 18 living in the home, or an individual who is currently pregnant. To learn more, email familysupport@pagosacommunityinitiative.org or call (970) 585-6521.
PCI also works with the Collaborative Management Program (CMP), an optional county-administered program that connects families, schools, agencies and community partners to remove barriers and improve outcomes for children and youth.
CMP helps coordinate services for families working with multiple organizations, reduces duplication and encourages agencies to work together and share resources. Families may qualify for CMP services if they have a youth between the ages of birth and 21 living in the home.
“Family voice is an important part of CMP,” said Chrissy Hancey, Archuleta County CMP coordinator. “We want families and community members to tell us what matters to them, where they see gaps in services and what support would make the greatest difference. Our goal is to create a more connected community where children, youth and families can access coordinated resources and opportunities for lasting success.”
To learn more about CMP services or share what matters to you, contact Hancey at (970) 585-6496 or cmp@pagosacommunityinitiative.org.
PCI still has school supplies available for families who need assistance as the school year gets underway. Families interested in receiving supplies may contact Family Services at (970) 585-6521 or familysupport@pagosacommunityinitiative.org.
