Unitarian Universalists to recap Pagosa Pride festivities at Sunday service

Posted

Join us, the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship for Action Sunday (held the fourth Sunday of each month) as we share and celebrate Pagosa Pride.

As an LBGTQ+ affirming and welcoming congregation, we will gather as a community to recap the Pagosa Pride festivities held in Town Park on Saturday, June 21.

The website for the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) states, “For 25 years we have worked hard to make sure lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are full members of our faith communities. Being welcoming means striving for radical inclusion, and creating spaces that honor every part of our identities, backgrounds, and experiences.”

The Pagosa UU Fellowship is working on recertification of the Welcoming Congregation status through the UUA, and is serving as one of the faith community supporters of the Pagosa Pride event.

We invite those interested in hearing more about the Welcoming Congregation process to join us on Sunday, June 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

This will be a relaxed setting to bring your curious heart into a community centered in love. Future interfaith programs and services are being planned that we hope will deepen the connections and inclusion for all of our diverse community. More information will come soon. Stay tuned.

Pagosa UU Fellowship is located at Unit B-15 of the Greenbriar Plaza, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak. We also offer Zoom services the first and third Sundays of the month. Find our current newsletter at PagosaUU.org for the link to join, and to find our current programs.

As a reminder, the Buddhist meditation group and practice is on hiatus for the remainder of June, and will resume at a new time in July.

And, looking ahead to June 29, another fifth Sunday this month, we once again invite you to consider rest as a spiritual practice. Whatever you decide to do, let it renew your spirit and guide you toward a deeper peace.
