The 10:30 a.m. Sunday service for Oct. 19 at the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship will welcome local Elaine Harding speaking on feng shui’s spiritual principles and the Tao.
Harding is certified in Black Sect Tantric Buddhist feng shui through the Mindful Design Feng Shui School. As a mystic, her winding path has taken her across continents learning from many spiritual teachers, including her root teacher of Dzogchen (Tibetan Buddhism), Namkhai Norbu.
Harding’s presentation will explore the “Tao Te Ching,” a deep spiritual text which birthed the originating principles of feng shui. As an ancient art of energy alignment within spaces and places, including in yourself, feng shui embodies a set of principles that allow you to flow with life by maintaining harmony with the five elements. Join us for this enlightening talk by a practitioner of this spiritual path.
As UUs, we draw from many sources for spiritual deepening and work toward building beloved community and justice for all.
Harding and her partner facilitate the Wise and Wakeful Circle, now meeting at the fellowship the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 10 a.m.
Our Action Sunday book group, held on the fourth Sunday of the month, begins this month.
We join other UU congregations this season reading “Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection” by Deepa Iyer.
Although this book is secular, it explores, in a workbook-style, how each individual can find their role in movements of social change.
To learn more about the book, visit https://uuabookstore.org/products/social-change-now. The fellowship has a copy to peruse or use during the course of study. Inquiries can be emailed to the fellowship. Visit the website PagosaUU.org for email info.
What we are now calling the UU Community Hub, the Pagosa UU Fellowship offers its space for ongoing programs and events that are not directly UU. These include the following, and further information can also be found at our website.
The Tara Meditation Group meets weekly on Sunday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with instruction, practice, study and chat. Beginners are welcome to jump in anytime. A Zoom option is available for those unable to attend in person.
The Wise and Wakeful Circle meets the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 10 a.m. Facilitated by Harding and Sam Johnson, it is open to all who align with the values of respect, peace and authentic connection.
We are honored to have a space that is used during the week in addition to our Sunday UU offerings. Save the date for Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. for Dances of Universal Peace with dance leader Wahhab David Sheets, a senior teacher, minister and retreat guide in the Inayati Sufi Order. More information to come.
The Pagosa UU Fellowship is located at Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak. For more information about the fellowship, please see the website and look for our current newsletter.
