Unitarian Universalists to begin series on book

Posted

The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship embraces ways it can be engaged with the movement of our times.

Action Sunday, held on the fourth Sundays of the month, is one way we stay informed and involved with matters that hold our values.

Beginning this Sunday morning, Oct. 26, at 10:30 a.m., we will introduce “Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection” by Deepa Iyer.

We will start with a short video introduction and interview with the author, and plan for how we want to engage with the material. If you want to take part but don’t yet have the book, no worries. There is still time to get a copy or download it on an e-reader and join us. To learn more about the book, visit https://uuabookstore.org/products/social-change-now. The fellowship has a loaning library of the workbook if needed. Simply show up if you’re interested in engaging with this book in a group setting.

The UU Community Hub offers space for on-going programs and events with building community in mind.

Check out the website, PagosaUU.org, for updated information. Here are a few of our current programs open to all interested.

The Tara Meditation Group meets most Sunday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Led by a certified instructor, it includes instruction, practice, study and connecting with one another. Beginners are welcome, and you are encouraged to email us so you can be put on the announcement list. (Find the email on our website.)

An online option is available for those unable to attend in person.

The Wise and Wakeful Circle meets the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Check it out this Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. This group is facilitated by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, and is open to all who align with the values of respect, peace and authentic connection.

Mark your calendars for Nov. 9 as we share in Dances of Universal Peace from 2 to 4 p.m. These group, circle dances are meditative, joyous and inviting as the simple movements and songs allow for an embodied experience. Long-time dance leader Wahhab David Sheets will be leading the dances.

Come and enjoy in community.
