A vigilante-style situation in Aspen Springs Monday led not only to shots being fired, but also to the arrest of two Archuleta County men.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, April 20, Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Floyd Capistrant responded to a report of shots fired on Ute Drive in Aspen Springs, said Undersheriff Tonya Hamilton.
According to Hamilton, the initial call reported that a man named Christopher Maez was outside working on his truck when an unidentified reporting party heard a gunshot, looked outside and saw a second man standing with a rifle pointed at Maez.
