Archuleta County Sheriff's Office
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, a few minutes after midnight, Archuleta County deputies conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle from New Mexico on U.S. 160 near Talisman Drive.
The deputies could see drug paraphernalia in plain view inside of the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputies located 13.37 grams of methamphetamine, 5.33 grams of cocaine, 167 fentanyl pills and 43 Xanax pills/bars.
These illegal drugs were intended to be delivered in Archuleta County, but they were intercepted by Archuleta County Sheriff's Office deputies conducting a traffic stop for no visible license plate.
One male adult from New Mexico was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance; unlawful distribution, manufacturing, dispensing or sale of controlled substances; and narcotics, and booked into the Archuleta County Detention Center.
We are extremely proud of our deputies who are making a difference in Archuleta County.
