Special to The PREVIEW
The ice rink is assembled in Town Park and we will begin adding water this week. The snow dance worked, so now we’ll dance for colder temperatures.
We invite you to come out and view our progress. Our Zamboni is housed nearby, just waiting to roll out and begin its job maintaining our ice surface.
We will be open seven days a week for your skating pleasure. There will be public skating sessions, group and private lessons, and scheduled practice sessions, hockey practice, games and special events.
Our hours of operation and events will be posted on our Facebook page, Friends of Pagosa Multi-Purpose Pavilion and at the Pagosa Springs Visitor Center located on Hot Springs Boulevard near U.S. 160.
We have several activities planned for this season. We are going to have a free Frosty Frolics Ice Show Dec. 28, 29 and 30 at 6 p.m.
We are looking for more participants and especially for some “hockey reindeer” and some lovely “little angels.” Santa will be there in his work clothes, passing out candy canes and planning what to make in his work shop for next year.
January holds some more surprises from our skating team and who knows what they’ll dream up next.
We are still seeking volunteers to help with the rink operations. We will be posting information on Facebook and will plan to have a training at the site in the near future. Please call Tari Woods at 731-8877 for additional information.
