The scoop on snow shoveling


Well, the snow has finally decided to show up in Pagosa, and not in moderation. Staying on top of the falling snow and digging ourselves out at the end of the storm can be challenging and, in some cases, dangerous if not done properly.

If you are the do-it-yourself type and looking forward to doing the shoveling, there is good news. Only 15 minutes of snow shoveling counts as moderate physical activity, according to the 1996 Surgeon General’s Report on Physical Activity and Health. That is half the daily recommendation for physical activity.
