St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is pleased to host the next rendition of Sunday Night Unplugged this Sunday, Aug. 23, at 5 p.m., which will feature one of Pagosa’s favorite musical groups: Sweet River.
The performance is open to all, during which they will be playing original and cover numbers along with sharing thoughts and reflections of their songs.
Sweet River is a Pagosa Springs-based indie-folk-rock trio that transforms Colorado mountain-town inspirations into a folk-infused energetic musical journey. The trio combines upbeat vocal harmonies, rhythmic guitar, driving cello, lively fiddle and tasteful additions of mandolin and harmonica.
They describe their performances as “weaving Appalachian-meets-orchestral arrangements into a foot-stomping parade of fun-filled live music”.
The Sweet River trio is the combination of Sean Meade, playing the guitar, harmonica and stomp pad; Pamela Meade on cello; and Payton McIntyre on the fiddle and mandolin, with all three blending their harmonic voices to produce their unique sound.
Members of our community, as well as visitors to Pagosa, are very welcome to attend this free hour-long event at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, located just south of the hospital, at 225 S. Pagosa Blvd., during which we will share the gift of music and reflection with Sweet River.
