St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is pleased to host the next rendition of Sunday Night Unplugged this Sunday, June 21 at 5 p.m., which will feature Durango musical artist Beau Smith, in a performance open to all.

Smith is a longtime Presbyterian pastor, current spiritual director, as well as a talented musician who composes 60 percent of his personal repertoire.

He is well-known in Southwest Colorado as the lead voice of his band, The Rev, and his music has been described as “an infectious blend of soulful vocals and folk-rock storytelling.”

He can be seen and heard entertaining at many local venues in Durango, as well as occasional appearances here in Pagosa Springs.

The Rev band recently played at the Fort Lewis College radio station’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the KDUR Cover Night, featuring songs by the band Wilco.

When not playing his original pieces, he particularly enjoys covering songs by Bob Dylan and Van Morrison. For this edition of Sunday Night Unplugged, Smith will play a mixture of hymns, classic folk songs, and his original pieces, accompanying them with his acoustic guitar.

Members of our community, as well as visitors to Pagosa, are very welcome to attend this free hour-long event at St. Patrick’s Church, located just south of the hospital, at 225 S. Pagosa Blvd., during which we will share the gift of music and reflection with Smith.
