This holiday season, and for their second year in a row, experience the enchantment and wonder of “The Storybook Nutcracker,” brought to life by the talented dancers of Pagosa Springs Dance Academy.
The studio has worked tirelessly developing an original version of the historical ballet using a delightful blend of traditional and iconic music combined with pieces that embody a more modern flare.
The whimsical and emotional choreography combined with storybook-style narration in this heartwarming performance is a must-see for families, children and anyone who loves the magic of the season.
Join Clara, the Nutcracker Prince and all your favorite characters, performed by nearly 70 local youth and a smattering of youthful adults, as they journey through a fantastical world of sugarplum fairies, battling mice and a dazzling winter wonderland.
With vibrant costumes, descriptive narration, and captivating performances, “The Storybook Nutcracker” is a fresh and family-friendly interpretation of the classic holiday tale that will fascinate audiences of all ages.
The show dates are Friday, Dec. 20, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m.
Extend your holiday entertainment and enjoy a delicious breakfast with the Expressions Company dancers before Saturday’s performance at 9 a.m. Servings will include pancakes with sweet and fruity toppings, eggs, sausages, juice, tea and cider. The breakfast will be a festive addition to the performance and will feature Nutcracker-themed activities and games, beautiful photo opportunities and close-up interactions with the talented dancers.
The location is the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium at 800 S. 8th St.
Ticket prices for the show only are just $15 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets for the Nutcracker Breakfast combined with the Saturday show are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets are available for purchase online at pagosadanceacademy.com.
