According to the San Juan National Forest, “Stage 2 Fire Restrictions go into effect on August 8 for the entire San Juan National Forest. This means NO CAMPFIRES anywhere. There are additional restrictions for smoking, welding, and explosives. Additional details will be released once the Forest Order is signed on Thursday. Fire danger is extreme across Southwest Colorado, with no significant monsoon relief in sight. For the safety of our communities and visitors, we must do everything we can to prevent wildfires.”
