The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado once again led regional participation in Colorado Gives Day — an easy, online initiative that empowers donors to support nonprofit organizations across the state.

Colorado donors showed up in force for this year’s event on Tuesday, Dec. 9, contributing $56.5 million statewide and $805,672 to nonprofits in Southwest Colorado.

This marks another record-setting year for Colorado Gives Day overall, surpassing last year’s achievements of $54.6 million and reflecting steady growth in community generosity. Gives Day totals will continue to rise throughout December as each nonprofit receives its portion of the statewide Incentive Fund.

This year’s collaborative outreach and regional marketing efforts inspired 2,495 donors to support 162 causes on the platform. These contributions directly benefit nonprofits serving Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties.

“Colorado Gives Day has become a powerful reflection of the support our communities show their local nonprofits all year long,” said Briggen Wrinkle, executive director of the Community Foundation. “From food assistance and youth programs to arts, housing, and environmental work, our region steps up consistently. This annual fundraiser highlights just how deeply our residents care about strengthening the place we all call home.”

The Community Foundation remains committed to powering philanthropy across Southwest Colorado and encouraging residents to support local causes year-round.
