Share your passion through local youth programs

Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County are full of people with talents and hobbies worth sharing.

The Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is now seeking local community members to help inspire and support youth during the upcoming school year.

PCI believes children learn best when they can explore new interests, try new things and build connections with caring adults right in their own community. That’s why the organization is inviting residents to step into roles such as club leaders, activity instructors and positive mentors, helping students turn their curiosity into real experiences.

Turn a hobby into an after-school opportunity

Whether your passion is outdoor adventure or creative art, PCI is looking for people who can share what they love with local youth.

Potential programs may include activities such as hiking, photography, dance, woodworking, coding, gardening, sports, crafts, music and countless other options — including ideas that are completely original.

“We want to help kids discover new interests,” PCI staff states, “and we know community members can make that happen.”

Flexible scheduling to fit your life

One of the best benefits of joining the PCI team is schedule flexibility.

Programs typically run Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., with Fridays between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Whether you’re able to offer just one hour per week or you’re looking for a consistent part-time role on multiple afternoons, PCI will work to match opportunities to your availability.

Make a difference, one activity at a time

For those looking for meaningful work where no two days are exactly the same — and where every interaction matters — PCI hopes you’ll consider helping local youth this school year.

By offering clubs and mentorship, community members can create unforgettable experiences for children across Archuleta County.
