Seeds of Learning is excited to announce an all-new community fundraiser, Hometown Voices and Nashville Stories, coming to the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts on Aug. 24.
After years of community support for Dancing with the Pagosa Stars, this new event promises to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment, storytelling and hometown talent.
Seeds of Learning is excited to officially reveal the hometown contestants participating in this year’s Hometown Voices and Nashville Stories competition: Shellie Dolan, Dawn Siggett, Stetson Atkinson, Cia Cherryholmes, Leela Simpson, Darcy DeGuise, Annita Bens and Wim Bens.
The local contestants, ranging from soloists to duets, will perform live on stage while competing for both Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards, with community votes and feedback from the Nashville songwriter judges helping to determine the winners. The combination of hometown talent and Nashville storytelling will create a one-of-a-kind evening for Pagosa Springs.
The event will also feature performances and behind-the-scenes stories from acclaimed Nashville Hall of Fame and award-winning singer/songwriters Jeffrey Steele, Wendell Mobley, Danny Myrick and Megan Linville.
Collectively, these artists have written chart-topping songs recorded by some of country music’s biggest names, including Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean and Montgomery Gentry.
Proceeds from Hometown Voices and Nashville Stories will directly support Seeds of Learning’s high-quality, NAEYC-accredited early learning program and its mission to provide exceptional early childhood education opportunities for local children and families.
Community members are encouraged to save the date for Pagosa Springs’ newest “can’t-miss” event.
