Second Chance Prom: Community needed now more than ever to support Pagosa Community Initiative

Posted

With just days until the Pagosa Community Initiative’s (PCI’s) fourth annual Second Chance Prom on May 16 at 7 p.m., the clock is ticking for our community to rally behind a critical $45,000 fundraising goal.

As more families need help, PCI — Archuleta County’s trusted family resource center — urgently needs your support to sustain free after-school programs, mental health therapy, summer camp scholarships, parent education and emergency family aid.

This Hollywood-themed extravaganza at the Ross Aragon Community Center (451 Hot Springs Blvd.) invites everyone 21 and older to dust off their finest attire for a night of dancing, celebration and giving back.

“Prom isn’t just a party — it’s the lifeline funding our youth initiatives and family support in a time of cutbacks,” said PCI board chair Carrie Blue-White. “Local generosity is our safety net now more than ever.”

Crown the evening’s stars by voting for prom queen and king among these beloved local couples: Kevin and Sunshine Blue, Kim and Allen Domingo, Kevin and Julia Wood, Carli and Adam Luhrs, and Kari and Scott Burkett.

Voting and silent auction bidding doesn’t require a ticket and can be done now at www.givebutter.com/PCIProm2026.

Our silent auction features unique local items up for bids online. Whether you attend or not, every ticket, vote, donation or bid directly fuels PCI’s life-changing work.
