Following an executive session held during its regular meeting on Wednesday, March 4, the Archuleta School District (ASD) Board of Education (BoE) unanimously approved the renewal of Superintendent Rick Holt’s employment contract.
Following an executive session that lasted an hour and a half held to discuss the “evaluation and contract renewal of Superintendent Rick Holt,” the BoE reconvened with board member Amanda Schick then motioning to renew Holt’s ongoing three-year contract, with a 3 percent salary increase.
BoE member Butch Mackey seconded the motion, which was then unanimously approved.
According to an email to The SUN from ASD Finance Director Eric Burt, the annual 3 percent salary increase is effective July 1, with no other increases.
Burt also notes the contract is still being finalized.
Holt was initially hired by ASD in May 2022 with a salary of $177,500.
