In a pair of graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 30, Archuleta School District, families and friends will honor the work of an estimated 100 graduating seniors as they close the book on their high school careers.

The first ceremony of the day, beginning at 9 a.m. at Golden Peaks Stadium, will feature Pagosa Springs High School’s graduates.

Then, at 1 p.m., San Juan Mountain School’s graduates will be honored in a ceremony in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium.

Pagosa Springs High School

Pagosa Springs High School anticipates having 82 graduates this year.

Leah Blackman earned the honor of being the class valedictorian, and Wiren Reev Belarmino and Jenna Jenkins both earned the distinction of salutatorian.

The class chose “Where’d All the Time Go” by Dr. Dog as its class song, the rose as its class flower and “You just gotta keep livin man- L I V I N” as its class motto.

Principal Sean O’Donnell will serve as the speaker at the ceremony.

“Congratulations to you on your achievement of graduation from Pagosa Springs High School,” O’Donnell wrote in an email to The SUN addressing the graduates. “I am so proud of you. Now that you are officially joining all of the past Pagosa Springs High School graduates as alumni, I know you will go out and do remarkable things. Work hard, stay curious, stay humble, and stay kind.”

San Juan Mountain School

San Juan Mountain School’s ceremony will feature 18 graduates.

Judith Berry earned the distinction of class valedictorian, with Raven Allen earning the salutatorian title.

The class chose “Brick in the Wall” by Pink Floyd as its class song, the dahlia as its class flower and “Don’t go with the flow, make your own flow” as its class motto.

Jeanne Marie Dahler will serve as the graduation speaker.

“We are looking forward to celebrating this wonderful group of graduates this Saturday at our ceremony,” Principal Stewart Bellina wrote in an email to The SUN. “The class of 2026 set the bar at a high level for future graduates. This class set records for the highest percentage of scholarships, the highest number of students meeting early graduation requirements, and the most graduates enrolled for college next fall. I am sure they will continue to amaze us with their success in the years to come. They are all driven, creative, passionate, and kind, and we will certainly miss them on our campus.”
