Overall sales tax collections for February 2025 increased 11.64 percent compared to figures from 2024, according to data released from Archuleta County Finance Director Chad Eaton on April 7.
Eaton notes that the Town of Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County received a total of $1,373,363.74 from the February tax revenues, with $683,733.11 going to the county and $689,623.63 going to the town.
The 11.64 percent increase from February 2024 equates to an additional $143,191.44, according to Eaton’s data.
Categories that were up in comparison to February 2024 according to Eaton’s data include:
• Retail trade at 9.24 percent, or $61,344.32.
• Information at 4.9 percent, or $1,200.03.
• Finance and insurance at 47.23 percent, or $501.46.
• Real estate, rental and leasing at 5.59 percent, or $1,170.42.
• Accommodation and food services at 23.22 percent, or $48,822.32.
• Other services (except public administration) at 5.48 percent, or $994.67.
• Miscellaneous at 35.71 percent, or $63,113.42.
Eaton’s data also identifies categories that were down in comparison to February 2024, which include:
• Construction at 17.34 percent, or $4,875.94.
• Manufacturing at 32.22 percent, or $22,708.36.
• Professional, scientific and technical services at 39.75 percent, or $6,370.90.
