Have you purchased your Runway for Rise ticket for the Oct. 3 event yet? If you haven’t, there is still time, and it is sure to be a night to remember.
In addition to the runway show, which features 10 creative teams showcasing outfits made from recycled cardboard and plastic, guests can take part in several interactive fundraising features:
• The Runway Wine Pull: Back by popular demand, attendees can purchase a mystery bottle of wine for $50. Bottles in the pull range in value from $35 up to $190, featuring options from crisp chardonnays to rich cabernets.
• Silent auction: Local businesses and individuals have generously contributed donated packages, gift baskets and experience items.
All proceeds directly fund Rise Above Violence’s core safety initiatives, including 24-hour crisis advocacy, emergency hotel stays, six-month rental assistance and legal system navigation.
The team that raises the most total funds will take home the coveted Prada Award. You don’t have to wait for Oct. 3 to cast your votes for one of these fabulous teams. Community members can support teams like Madame Sparkle Pants and Corrugated Champions right now by casting $1 votes online.
Meet Team Corrugated Champions
Comprised of Josie Snow, Scott Galabota, Julie Reardon, Carmelita Perez, Lois Lee and Jasmine Lee, Corrugated Champions are channeling creativity into community impact.
Snow returns for her fourth year on the Runway, with Galabota, Perez, Lois Lee and Jasmine Lee each making their return appearances. This year also marks Reardon’s Runway debut as the team’s model.
“We are participating in Runway for Rise in order to be champions for those who might need extra support,” the team shared.
Expect clever cardboard couture and a strong push to raise crucial funds for survivors.
Meet Team Madame Sparkle Pants
Lauri Heraty, Robin Curvey, Cindy Nobles and Drake Stewart are lighting up the runway to carry forward Joyce Hertaus’ joyful commitment to Rise.
“We’ve come together as a team to support survivors and celebrate Joyce Hertaus, a beloved supporter of Runway for Rise. Joyce never missed an opportunity to dress up and believed life was infinitely better with a little sparkle,” the team said.
At the very first Runway, Hertaus captured the Mountain Glam Award for her sparkly ensemble, and Team Madame Sparkle Pants hope survivors will draw strength from Hertaus’ words: “Smile often, choose joy and wear the sequins — don’t wait for a special occasion.”
