On Oct. 25, members of the Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs rang bells, inviting our generous community to help make polio history.
Thanks to your contributions, $427 was raised that day for Rotary International’s PolioPlus fund, advancing us toward a world where no child is at risk of polio paralysis.
In addition to the funds collected that day, our Rotary Club members have donated $1,175 this year. Through Rotary’s longstanding partnership with the Gates Foundation, which matches two for every dollar raised, your support brings this year’s total to an impressive $4,806.
To continue the critical work of eradicating polio, Rotary has committed to raising $50 million annually to reach every child with the polio vaccine. With the Gates Foundation’s 2-to-1 match, that means $150 million per year toward global eradication efforts. As long as polio exists anywhere, children everywhere are at risk due to its highly contagious nature.
If you missed us on Oct. 25, you can still make a difference. Please consider donating online at endpolio.org or mail a check to Rotary Pagosa Community Assistance Fund, P.O. Box 685, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.
Together, we can make history by eradicating polio for good.
