The Texas Department of Public Safety (TDPS) has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of a wanted sex offender who has ties to the Pagosa Springs area.

An award of $8,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of 60-year-old Mark Timothy McBride if that information leads to his arrest in February.

McBride is listed as being 5 foot 10 inches, 250 pounds and white.

He may be wearing glasses, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Additionally, he has also been known as Mark McBridge.

According to the TDPS website, McBride is wanted for failing to comply with sex offender registry requirements, violating his parole and violating his probation.

The website explains that, in 2006, McBride was convicted in Tarrant County, Texas, on 3 counts of indecency with a child - sexual contact for an incident involving two 16-year-old females.

“He was subsequently sentenced to seven years in TDCJ prison and also received ten years’ probation,” reads the TDPS website. “On July 5, 2011, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for MCBRIDE’s arrest for Parole Violation (Original Offense: Indecency with a Child - Sexual Contact x 2).”

The website adds, “On August 10, 2011, a Probation Violation (Original Offense: Indecency - Fondling) warrant was issued out of Tarrant County for MCBRIDE’s arrest. On March 7, 2014, the North Richland Hills Police Department issued a warrant for MCBRIDE’s arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.”

The website explains that McBride has lived in Pagosa Springs, and also has ties to North Richland Hills and Fort Worth in Texas.

“Prior to absconding from the North Richland Hills area in 2011, MCBRIDE had expressed an interest in living and working in Alaska,” reads the website.
