Reconstruction damage under investigation

Local law enforcement are investigating damage to the U.S. 160 reconstruction project that occurred Tuesday evening, May 12.

According to Officer Brandon Bishop, the Pagosa Springs Police Department (PSPD) is investigating the matter as criminal mischief, and the level of charges is still being determined.

The damage is believe to have been done between 7 and 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, May 12, Bishop noted Wednesday.

According to Project Superintendent Jason Daigneault of WW Clyde, damages are still being determined, though it could potentially be upwards of $20,000.
