The Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners stand with local first responders from the Pagosa Fire Protection District and Pagosa Springs Medical Center Emergency Medical Services after reading a proclamation at its Sept. 1 meeting. The proclamation proclaims Sept. 11, 2026, as the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and national day of remembrance in the county, and urges citizens to recognize the heroism of firefighters, rescue and law enforcement personnel, military service members and the many volunteers who responded to these tragic events with courage, selfless compassion, determination and skill; and to remember the victims and innocent lives lost because of the tragic events on Sept. 11, 2001.
