San Juan National Forest
The Pagosa Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest is planning an additional 100 acres of prescribed fire on Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Turkey Springs area of Brockover-Devil Prescribed Fire Project (Phase B on the map).
Last week, a successful 400 acres was completed in adjacent units (Phase A).
In the immediate vicinity of ignitions, expect moderate smoke to settle along the Martinez Creek drainage, impacting the Hatcher subdivision and Dutton Creek areas. Light smoke overnight will impact U.S. 160 at Martinez Canyon and may be visible from uptown Pagosa Springs.
