Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to hold Going Deeper Sharing Circle on March 8

Posted

Unitarian Universalists (UUs) have been longtime advocates for civil rights as meaning-making people in this life that is often fraught with heartache and injustice in our world. Living out our values requires action, and we are guided and inspired by those who have come before us.

One aspect of action is to know when to rest and refuel our minds, our bodies and our spirits.

We do this by holding space for reflection and listening in community as we build resilience and faith in all that we, as individuals, hold sacred.

The second Sunday of each month we host the Going Deeper Sharing Circle from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

This month, on March 8, we will finish the theme of a muscular hope, using resources from the “On Being” podcast.

Inspiration will come from Ross Gay, a poet, essayist, teacher and passionate community gardener. He lives in Bloomington, Ind., where he’s a professor of English at Indiana University.

Krista Tippet, host of “On Being,” says of Gay, “He brings us another way of wisdom, to the conviction that we have to know what we love and what delights us. And that we have to tend to that as fiercely as to what is broken and what we’re called to make better, what we’re called to make more just.”

This small-group gathering is a place to deepen an inner awareness and participate in community sharing as we practice deep listening and connection. This is an open, safe circle of engaging in your own life’s journey and spiritual growth.

Stay tuned for future programming next month, using a variety of resources to “Make Friends, Grow in Spirit and Do Good.”

Visit our website, PagosaUU.org, where you will find information about upcoming services and programs.

We offer space for ongoing programs and events at the UU Community Hub, such as the Tara Meditation Group held Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and Qigong practice on Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. The Wise and Wakeful Circle, hosted by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, will meet the second Saturday, March 14, at 10 a.m. All are welcome for mindfulness practice connecting with others to build community.

The Pagosa UU Fellowship is located in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing Pagosa Peak.
