A joyous time of connection rang in the new year at the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship last Sunday. With nearly 20 in attendance, we listened to music by talented musicians, heard readings of hope and shared delicious treats.
Thanks to all those who participated, and stay tuned for additional offerings to feed your soul.
The second Sunday of each month is set aside for our Going Deeper Sharing Circle from 10:30 a.m. to noon.On Jan. 11, we will continue with the theme of hope using resources from the “On Being” podcast.
Our inspiration will be activist and author, Joanna Macy.
Krista Tippet, host of “On Being,” said of Macy, “What she embodies is a wild love for the world and a fierce hope that rises irrepressible from that.”
Macy, who died at the age of 96 last year, was a Buddhist philosopher of ecology, worked with the CIA in Cold War Europe and served in the Peace Corps in post-colonial India. Her works include “Active Hope, Coming Back to Life: Practices to Reconnect Our Lives,” and four volumes of translated works of Rainer Maria Rilke.
This small-group gathering is a place of reflection and sharing as we practice deep listening and sharing from our hearts. All are invited to join in, as this is an open, safe circle of deepening your own life’s journey.

We offer space for on-going programs and events at the UU Community Hub, such as the Tara Meditation Group held Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and Qigong practice on Monday afternoons. The Wise and Wakeful Circle, hosted by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, will meet the second Saturday, Jan. 10, with a special play shop this month. There will be no Circle the fourth Saturday this month. For more information, check out the website.
